How to Change Your Life: The Miracle Equation

Updated on March 24, 2013

You Can Change Your Life!

How to change your life...haven't we all pondered that question at one time or another? Well, I have good news. It's actually a very simple process.

Simple. Notice I never said easy.

If you follow this simple (there's that word yet again) process, you can change your life. That's why I call this the miracle equation. It really can work miracles.

The Miracle Equation: A Summary - 4 Steps to a Better Life--Guaranteed!

The miracle equation only has four steps. That's all. Each step builds on the last until you have reached your goal. We'll go through the steps one by one, but here is the gist of it...how to change your life in four simple steps:

  1. Commit to Your Dream
  2. Have Faith in Your Dream...and Yourself
  3. Take Action
  4. Persevere...Never Ever Give Up!

“We all have our time machines. Some take us back, they're called memories. Some take us forward, they're called dreams.”

Jeremy Irons

The Dream and the Commitment

A dream is a wish that our heart makes. Unfortunately, until we make the decision to turn that dream into a reality, that's all it will remain...an empty wish. History is full of dreamers who made their own reality. The dream is only the beginning.

The commitment counts. It takes only a second to make the decision. But what an important second it is! That second is the very first of your new life.

Just keep in mind that focus is important too. Make sure that you really know what your dream is...another word for it is goal setting. If you haven't set your goal, how will you ever know when you reach it?

Make your commitment today. In fact, do it now. The clock is ticking.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1 KJV

You Gotta Have Faith!
You Gotta Have Faith!

Have Faith

We aren't talking religious faith here--though in my honest opinion that doesn't hurt, either. For the miracle equation to work you need faith in yourself. That you have what it takes to turn that dream into reality. And that can be much harder than it sounds.

Doubts start to creep in, and we start wanting to give up. Maybe our friends or family don't understand or believe in what we are trying to do. Being the only one who believes in a sea of nay-sayers can be a daunting prospect. Especially when the nay-sayers are the very ones who should be supporting you!

Don't let their doubts become yours. if your dream is worthy, stick to your guns and your commitment. You really can do this...after all, we are only on step two. The next step is where the proverbial rubber meets the road.

Take Action--Gather your momentum!
Take Action--Gather your momentum!

Take Action!

First and foremost, you need to know that you can make a hundred decisions and totally believe in yourself, but if you never start to work on your goals, they are destined to die. These steps must be completed all together, in order for you to truly change your life.

The good news is that by taking action, you will actually gather momentum. Starting is the hard part. It takes a massive amount of power to get a heavy train moving, but once it's going...well, just try to stop it! Let it be the same way with your dreams. Get started on them, gather momentum, and don't let anything stop you.

Which actually brings us to perhaps the most important step of all...

Perseverance

If there is only thing you take away from this page, let it be this: You never fail until you stop trying!

There is more than one way to get from New York to California, and there is more than one way for you to reach your dream. Stay flexible and keep on trying.

Need some inspiration? Okay, here are some great examples for you:

Noah--Did you know that it took Noah over 60 years (some say as much as 100 years) to build the ark? Do you think he had the support of his friends? No, he was ridiculed and called a fool. Until the rain started...

Thomas Alva Edison--When people asked him if he wasn't getting discouraged with his thousands of failures when trying to develop a long-lasting incandescent light bulb, he replied, "I have not failed 10,000 times. I have successfully found 10,000 ways that will not work."

Colonel Harland Sanders--When searching for investors in his newly thought up Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise, he received over 1,000 rejections before he got his very first yes. And he was 65 years old when he started

Bottom line, if something isn't working for you, then be flexible and try another path. Just don't ever, ever give up!

Motivational Moments

For those times when you need a little extra motivation to keep going...maybe these short videos can help.

Motivation is the Key

If you are going for your dream and really committed to winning it...you're going to need some gentle reminders about what you are trying to do. A good motivational poster or print can help. To remind you that the fight and trials are really worth it.

I love Successories motivational prints! I always have. Some of the knock-offs are pretty good, too, but the successory brand is the one that (at least to me) started it all. You can see their prints and posters hanging in almost any office. And with good reason--they work.

Take a look. There are many to choose from. I'll share my favorite and a few others, and then I'll give you an Amazon search to look for the one that speaks to your soul. Believe me, you'll know it when you see it!
